Explore new public art exhibits, interactive games, green chemistry booths, live music and dance, storytelling and more. Guaranteed to entertain people of all ages. This event is a collaborative partnership between COOL’s Destination World and the Revolving Museum’s ARTventures. THIS EVENT IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC! The evening program includes:

DESTINATION WORLD: Carnival of Creativity at Lucy Larcom Park

7:00 – 8:15pm Yarina Group: Music and Dance from Ecuador and the Andes

Yarina’s repertoire ranges from ancient Andean rhythms to original compositions, incorporating Jazz, Blues, Latin and Classical Western styles. This group of siblings is dedicated to the preservation of Indigenous Identity through music, dance and poetry. Dressed in traditional multi-layered, brilliantly colored skirts and hand-embroidered blouses, dancers blend traditional movements and original choreography.

7:30 – 9:00pm Mystic Jammers: Reggae Band

If you like the idea of Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix playing together, then this is for you! Inspirational lyrics, tight vocals, monstrous bass and stellar lead guitar, this is true reggae and rock combined. Musically, it's clear the Mystic Jammers have learned and digested not only the form of Reggae Idiom itself but the Soulful Spirit that motivated Jamaican pioneers... The group hopes to inspire its audience to think as well as move!

7:00 – 9:00pm Artist Antics Clown Walk

Spontaneous physical comedy with improvised clown hijinks, juggling, and dancing. Follow this clown and see strange things happening all around him! Objects get dropped, people fall in love, logic is defied, and your photograph might get taken. Anything can happen!

8:45 – 9:45pm Capoeira Demonstration – Open Class

Capoeira is a game and a dance that was created by slaves in Brazil in the 16th century.  It is a unique sport, mixing game playing and competitive fighting. It is a spectacle for the eyes of the observer. Come see playing this Capoeira game, where cooperating is more important than winning. Participants can be 6 to 60 years, and play depends only on the creativity of each person. Join our class!

10:00 – 10:30pm Dragon Trybe Fire Performance

Experience this fire dancing coming directly from the Volcano at the Big Island of Hawaii. Set of fire toys includes fire poi, staff, fire fingers, flaming hula hoop, fans, a stunning fire crown, and a multi-media ritualized performance that includes dancing, live music, puppetry, and of course, fire spinning. Fire dancing conveys a sacred connection to fire as a powerfully transformative element, and performances evoke inspiration and magic.
