Destination World Thursday, June 7th, from 6 – 9:30pm
Featuring an independent film, lively music and poetry open slam in downtown Lowell!
LOWELL FIVE MAIN STAGE, National
Park Visitor Center: 6 –
8 pm
The Science of Sleep
(2006)
Starring Gael Garcia Bernal
and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Directed by Michel Gondry. Stephan has always been an
imaginative dreamer, but when he gets a mind-numbingly boring job, he truly
loses himself in his fantasies. Shot in a highly stylized fashion it is hard to
tell where reality begins and ends in this imaginative dramedy.
Live Music – Cahill,
at Mambo Grill, 7-9 pm
The duo Cahill is comprised
of Boston natives Bob Antonelli and Scott O’Brien. As childhood friends, their
earliest artistic collaboration began at the ripe age of five. In recent years,
Cahill has brought their music and performance up and down the east coast
– from obscure coffee houses in upstate New Hampshire and Maine, to
collegiate venues in Georgia and Virginia, to the Boston club and bar scene,
and their favorite spot in particular: intimate jams in Harvard Square.
Poetry Slam and Open Mic,
at Brew’d Awakening Coffeehaus, 7 – 9:30pm
Arrive 6:30-7 if you are
signing up to read / perform. Come hear the liveliest and most invigorating
poetry around while sipping on a piping hot café latte. A prize will be awarded
for the winner of the poetry slam!
