Destination World is a monthly cultural celebration around town featuring film, art, music, dance, food and family programming.
8p-9p, Kerouac's Last Call: A New Play by Patrick Fenton
Newsday reporter Patrick Fenton's illuminating and haunting new play will receive a fully staged reading produced by Lowell's Image Theater. Audience members are invited to a last night party held in Jack's honor, the night before he and his mother leave Ozone Park, Queens, NY for their last dstination, Florida. Mr. Fenton's dialogue is eerily reminiscent of Kerouac's own writings and we invite the audience to engage the author in a discussion after the reading. The play will be directed by Ann Garvin and features Jerry Bisantz as Mr. Kerouac. One night only! Doors open at 7:30p, $10 suggested donation. National Park Visitors Center Theater, 246 Market St. Call 978-441-0102 to reserve your seats.
7p-9:00p, Live Music: Brian Bergeron and the Late Greats
Comparisons have been made between Bergeron's sound and many pre-eminent artists including Damien Rice, David Gray, Ryan Adams and Jack Johnson. His stage show more accurately resembles the comical storytelling and wit of Matt Nathanson. One can certainly hear all of these artists in Brian's sound but there is also something singular and individual to this up-and-comer that people have been responding so positively to.
